Raleigh — Four flight attendants suffered minor injuries as a flight from London to Raleigh had a bumpy last few minutes Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews boarded the American Airlines flight after it landed at RDU and helped the flight attendants, who had bumps and bruises.

Todd Hamilton was a passenger on the flight and took pictures of the scene. He said the jumbo jet hit severe turbulence just before landing. Hamilton called it the scariest experience of his life.

“Five minutes before landing, the bottom dropped out of the airplane. It felt like it dropped 50 to 75 feet minimum,” he said. “My wife is on another plane coming from Atlanta. I thought I’d never see her again.”
